Carlita is originally from the UK, where she first studied at Falmouth College of Art & Design, her art is influenced by he mother whom is also a British Painter ( www.kimshaw.co.uk ) along with other fields of her work and academic background as an Environmental Biologist, Advocacy Journalist, Radio host and Qigong Practitioner. She also develops Sustainability & Indigenous Human Rights Projects for indigenous people of South America. She has exhibited in Falmouth, Cornwall, London, Covent Garden, UK and for 100 Square Foot Community Art Project joint Exhibition in New Orleans, USA and London. Carlita is extensively travelled, her great grandmother was from India, her work in ecology and art work focus on preserving the tropical rainforest, ancient civilizations and wildlife. Carlita has lived in California, the Guatemalan Highlands and Europe. At a time capitalistic imperialism is manufacturing a global monoculture therefore bleaching out ancient indigenous cultures, Carlita believes it is important to work towards the preservation of indigenous people, their languages and their ancestry, this is a passion deeply reflected in her art work. Carlita has founded several international organizations dedicated to Sustainability & Environmental Education Projects in Central and South America. She is committed to working in the field of Ecological & Humanitarian Sustainability, Wildlife Conservation, Art & the Internal Healing Arts. She now lives in Ecuador where she is involved in rainforest conservation with her foundation Evolve to Ecology.com
